comfortable and conveniently located within easy walk to hospital and large shopping centre
room was comfortable and as expected albeit a little outdated and minor maintenance required on some of the cabinets. For me the location was the drawcard as i needed accommodation close to Macquarie Uni Hospital. The uni grounds were relaxing and picturesque. Having an onsite restaurant was also convenient.

What was the highlight of Lakeside Hotel and Conference Centre
A terrific, affordable, an convenient stay for anyone attending events on campus.
Staff were terrific, helping me get into a room several hours before check-in when my flight was much earlier than expected. Incredibly convenient location for events at the university, an ~7 minute walking distance to the university center. A short ~15 minute walk to the local shopping center and adjacent metro made getting supplies, and elsewhere in the city incredibly easy. The room had a terrific view of the adjacent green & lake. The room was clean and well-furnished, and housekeeping did a terrific job when requested. The dine-in Lachlan's restaurant offered some terrific varieties and excellent food. Having a smart TV in the room is an underrated benefit, that I don't see many mentioning. The air-conditioning unit in the room was plenty strong, if a little noisy, but no more so than any hotel, to be frank. If you've got business at the University, this is a good stay for the money.
Only one major complaint, the advertised Lounge Bar seems to have been closed and, talking to staff, has been for some time. Indeed, the room where it seems to have been was shut for the duration of my stay. The bar is mentioned in the advertising, so it was disappointing to find it closed. Not a huge deal, but I was looking for a close, quiet place to unwind after the day. The advertising should probably be updated. Small quibbles: No microwave in the room. There wasn't one advertised, so that's mostly on me for not checking. Had some delicious local food that I would have loved for leftovers! The menu provided with the in-room guide for room service did not include a wine & spirits list, and the one that appears on the website seems to be out-of-date. Just walked over to the restaurant itself to check the menu and snapped a photo, but the online / in-room menus should probably be updated.
